M-CNC Precision Engineering to host pioneering FOBEM

M-CNC Precision Engineering

M-CNC Precision Engineering, in conjunction with local Somerset schools, colleges, businesses and enterprises plan to showcase the very best of British engineering and manufacturing in the hope of inspiring the next generation of master craftsmen.

The next generation of precision engineering

The Festival Of British Engineering & Manufacturing (FOBEM) is an invitation only, two day event being held at M-CNCs advanced manufacturing facility in Bridgwater. On October 20th & 21st the event will feature like minded businesses and representatives from the UK engineering and manufacturing sectors, all hoping to inspire a new generation of precision engineers.

Students and teachers from local Somerset-based schools and colleges (B&TC, Weston, Strode and Yeovil) will have the opportunity to pre-book guided tours of the M-CNC manufacturing facility, see demonstrations of the latest Industry 4.0 cutting-edge technologies in action and have the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of industry professionals, businesses and enterprises.

Participating businesses (including WEAF, SWMAS, DMG Mori, Rolls Royce, Ariel Motor Company and Aberlink) and the entrepreneurs behind them will be encouraged to engage and take questions from students and visitors, giving them first-hand insights and practical advice about our world-leading industry.

A festival with ambition

The goal of Festival Of British Engineering & Manufacturing is to signpost the multiple career paths within an industry of innovation and creativity that is literally “engineering new horizons”.

M-CNC Business Development Manager, Leigh Howarth commented; “My career in engineering started when a teacher took the time to fire my imagination! They saw the potential in me that others didn’t and opened my eyes to a world of creativity and innovation. That’s the aim of this event. To inspire a new breed of engineer who will continue to pioneer and champion the UKs undisputed heritage of manufacturing excellence”.
